2022 Western Hunt & Conservation Expo

Updated: Mar 26, 2022

The last couple months have been a whirlwind. I took some time for myself and needed to step away from things from being too overloaded, personally and professionally. I think one thing I realized is that no matter what is going on, don't step away from things that you love. Things that make you feel alive, that give you purpose, and peace.

Getting out to the Western Hunt Expo in Utah was just what I needed. To remember why I started this, love the outdoors, and my new found love for hunting. It was an incredible first experience. We saw some amazing products and met some amazing people. I had the best date and let's just say it lit a little fire in this new hunter.

We went on Saturday and while the morning started out quiet, it didn't take long for it to be wall to wall people. Even still I had no trouble getting to where we needed and speaking with the vendors to get help and answer any questions I had. You definitely have to be patient and understanding especially on the busier days of the week.

It was a lot to take in and when first walked in and we did a quick loop and settled on some elk jerky to start. We then headed over to Kryptek, my favorite gear and the only gear I have worn hunting. I was excited to hear about what they have going and they took great care of us. I am in love with my new hats, they definitely help support my addiction.

Peax Equipment has some great things going on this year. I have heard a lot about their gear. I had yet to try any, sometimes I just want to see it in person before I buy. It did not disappoint. I picked up their new headlamp. Super excited to try this out and sounds like so is everyone else since it is already almost sold out since it's release. I was able to see their new tent in person which I hope debuts this summer. A whole 4 lbs, this isn't going to be one to pass up on.

I have been slowly building my hunting gear, little by little. A bugle tube was on my list and I am glad I waited. I got the help from The Bugler, Dirk Durham. He was patient and very helpful with my lack of knowledge. I went away with everything I needed and he even signed my bugle tube. Let's hope it brings me luck this fall.

There are an endless amount of booths I wish I could mention. Hush and Mountain Ops had a lot of fun activities going on. I was stoked to finally try Black Rifle Coffee Company, and was incredibly impressed with how smooth the flavor was.

We stopped by Eberlestock, Vortex, Leupold, Stuck n' the Rut, Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls, OnX, just to name a few. They were entirely helpful and really made the experience that much better.

We can't wait until next year!
