This season was a whole new world to me. Each time out I feel I am gaining more and more knowledge on not just hunting but the patterns and characteristics of elk.
I was able to get out for a few days on opening day. I was incredibly anxious to get on the mountain. It was hot. Incredibly hot.
The elk were quiet so I looked for sign any place I could. I knew this wallow was near where my cam had been set up. So day one this was my spot to sit on.
The first few days were exhausting but we had a blast. My sister came out with me one day and we always find a way to entertain ourselves in the wait.
Since they weren't calling, we tried to pull them out and just didn't have luck.
No matter what I can never get enough of the views.
