I came across Exo Mtn Gear at the Hunt Expo in Salt Lake City. I looked at quite a few different vendors and tried some packs on but I was very reluctant to invest so much money and be disappointed.
As a woman so many of these packs are not designed for us. They are too heavy, they don't sit right on your hips, they don't adjust the right way for height. Let me just say I couldn't be happier with my Exo Mtn Gear K3 Pack.
I chose the K3 Pack System. This pack is versatile enough that I can take it on a day pack or take into for days in the backcountry. I wanted to have a pack that at this time gave me both options. I didn't want to invest more later down the road to be able to do more.
This pack system comes in a short and tall option. I went with the short which fits sizes. It fits better on my hips and the waist straps are adjustable.
The pack is incredibly light. When I pick it up I fell like I am carrying nothing. They have a Titanium frame which not only means they are light but have the strength to withstand heavy loads.
The system I bought came with a lid which is a must for taking a pack hunting or backpacking trips. The lid goes over top which gives room for additional storage to hook on the front of the pack. It also has two pockets on the top for easy access which is always nice for those quick stops for those items you need handy.
I purchased two hip belt pouches with my system. I am so glad I grabbed these. I was not excited about adding on additional costs but these are worth it. The pouches slide right onto your hip belt with an easy Velcro feature. This is great for items you need without having to take your pack off. I put ammo, my phone, and a few other necessities in there.
The day my pack came was like Christmas. I wondered around the house and the yard for a good hour just enjoying it. Exo Mtn Gear is also based out of Boise, Idaho. I love finding these local companies that are doing amazing things and making products that are going to give you something that has the quality and care built in!
