Fly Fishing at Meadow Lake

Last summer one of my favorite people on this planet took me to camp at Meadow Lake. A little gem I had no idea about. It the perfect quiet getaway. Meadow Lake was just a few hours from home in the beautiful Salmon-Challis National Forest. I was able to bring Indie along for her first adventure.

The campground and lake is tucked away at a little over 9,000 feet surrounding by these incredible mountains. It was quiet and serene. We were able to get our tent setup in this beautiful little spot. The roads are tight and windy but people did bring trailers up there.

The campground was clean and had a total of 17 spots to choose from. I loved that there was a flat spot to put the tent. So often you have to find and clear out the best location for a tent and we didn't have to do that here.

We got up and spent our day on the lake. We relaxed and just enjoyed our time. The lake is stocked twice a year with fish. It was so incredibly clear that you could see the fish right in front of you. The bites I had were pretty small but it was still exciting as I am slowly getting the hang of fly fishing.

Besides falling into the cold lake Indie enjoyed her time. The place I felt was completely dog friendly.

Hailey doing her thing. She even brought her new float tube for fly fishing. It was great to try out and much more stable then I anticipated it would be.

The area even provides a hiking trail. I wasn't able to get that done but definitely need to bring the boys back to experience this beautiful place.
