Pebble Creek Ski Area

My heart lives on this hill. It is where my kids learned to ski and I have so many deeply, special memories on that hill. No matter what hill we visit, this will always be home.

The boys all started skiing at Pebble. Our first season we rented equipment either right from Pebble or at our local ski shop Barrie's Ski and Sports. If you are ever in the area, you should stop and support this shop, they are amazing! One great thing you can do at Barrie's is rent equipment for the season through their lease program. This saves some a lot of money especially for growing kids.

This kid has been my buddy on the hill. We spent a lot of our time the first season on the bunny hill. I wanted to make sure the boys enjoyed skiing before we invested in equipment. Very quickly it became one of our favorite things to do.

Pebble even does junior races for any kid that wants to participate. Even if kids are not looking to compete to win, it is great for building skills and confidence on skis and they have a lot of fun doing it.

Most weekends I am surrounded by boys and I do my best to keep up with this crew. My oldest started out snowboarding and each of the boys have tried it. But my oldest was given a pair of skis and his passion for it quickly became clear. So much that he now teaches lessons each week for little kids.

Powder days are the best days. This is a good representation of how my legs feel after most weekends. I have slowly been doing some out of bounds skiing as I gain comfort. Backcountry skiing is incredible and challenging. My first time I barely survived but it was definitely one of my most memorable moments in my life that will forever fill my heart.

At the top of lift there are various directions you can head depending on your skill level. I am not going to lie, Pebble has some steep areas and they say if you can ski Pebble you can ski anywhere. The boys spent a lot of time taking the cat tracks down from the top until they gained confidence. This is the angle I have headed to my favorite out of bounds area and one of my other favorite runs, Outback.

Ski season would never be complete without plenty of laughs and fun with this girl. Skiing has saved both of our sanity over the long winter months in Idaho.

The views from Pebble never get old. They are magical and breathtaking.

This view is headed straight up the main lift which is called Skyline. I honestly can't say enough good things about Pebble. It is small in size but huge in heart. The staff is incredible. The best is the atmosphere to me. I like things laid back and that is definitely the vibe. Friends, food, music on the deck, and the sound of snow under my skis fill my soul.

So mark Pebble Creek Ski Area on your skiing bucket list. See you on the hill!
