Ski in Idaho for $18

Did you read that right?! You sure did. Below is our first full season the five us when we started skiing at our local resort. I know how expensive it can be to try ski. With four boys I know all the tips and tricks how and where to save.

For any child in 5th or 6th grade you can ski in Idaho for just $18 at up to 18 participating resorts. I came across Ski Idaho through one of the boy's schools and it is an incredible opportunity. You can also rent gear at local ski shops or at the resorts themselves without having to invest. I know this saves a lot of money for some since kids often use the gear for only one season.

Ski Idaho has made it possible for us to visit multiple resorts. We have visited five of the resorts and continue to add to our list of resorts. We have skied Pebble Creek, Grand Targhee, Sun Valley, Pomerelle, and Lost Trail.

A 5th grader gets three full day lift tickets at any of the participating 18 resorts and a 6th grader gets two full day lift tickets at 17 participating resorts (loses Pomerelle). There are some blackout dates for a few resorts but I personally have never run into issues with that. Looks like most blackout dates are around the holidays. We stick close to our resort around the holidays which we have ski passes for and head to other resorts after the beginning of the year. Skiing at new places when it is insanely busy is not my favorite.

Skiing is our second home over the winter. Every weekend we live on the hill and I wouldn't have it any other way. You purchase an $18 passport through the Ski Idaho website. The passes just went on sale and you can check out Ski Idaho here https://skiidaho.us/passports
