Idaho is the best playground. There is ton of places to go and see across the entire state. I have so many hidden gems yet to discover. I went a girl's trip to Island Park and let's just say it was the best little getaway.
I think the first 30 minutes of arriving in Island Park, I had my waders on. This gorgeous river runs right through Island Park. There are incredible places to fish all over Idaho and the views will just take your breath away.
I will go on any adventure with these two. We have endless laughs and provide each other a lot of sanity. We were able to spend a few days at my friend's cabin.
We took a ride around the community and the fresh mountain air makes it incredibly hard to leave places like this.
We went during the week which was great because it was not very busy out. We headed over and had lunch at this cute lodge on their deck.
The next day was all about floating the river. Sometimes things don't always go as smoothly when you have me around and my wild ideas. My unicorn had some issues fitting in the car for the ride over.
Skies were blue and water was cold. We dropped a vehicle off for when we got out and headed to the top of the river. Was very easy to navigate to our destination. Most importantly the unicorn made it one piece.
We ran into a few snags with the river moving us along and not enough paddles to keep us going. Well, at least that’s what my friends told me. To me everything was great, as I got pulled around by these great friends. There may have been some threats on the unicorns life by the end of the float.
Next day, we headed into Yellowstone for a hike we found on our All Trails App.
No matter how many times you go to Yellowstone, it never gets old. The views are epic and the experience will take your breath away. I am never a fan of heavy crowded days and this day wasn't too bad.
Every stop on the trails had places to soak in the view. And the fact that it ended with this gorgeous waterfall was perfect. Going into any outdoor activity away from your vehicle it is always important to be prepared for wildlife. Carry bear spray and most importantly being respectful of them. We have all seen enough video of people getting too close.
The hike was perfect and just enough of a challeng for the day.
This is a stop on the way to the top. I would definitely recommend this hike especially when you see things like bears and Bruce Willis.
We saw this guy on our way out of the park. And let me just say he has nailed the look I give my kids when they have crossed the line. He definitely wasn't having it that day.
The view here was great, the bugs were not. Dropped my line for a total of ten seconds before we decided it wasn't worth it.
Let me just say if I had to be stranded anywhere, I would want these two by my side. Probably the only way we would all survive. Cheers to more encounters with my girls!
